Thanks for the warm welcome. I will probably be here more now that I'm staying on Win7 on my main PC at home for awhile. I use Win7 at work, too. I'll run Win8 on a test PC or two at home, but not again on my main PC until I can trust it more. Perhaps after a service pack, although I don't believe M$ will be providing SP's any longer, just regular releases/updates.

I read about your Windows 8 installation problems on Eight Forums. So far my Windows 8 installation has been running in top form, although I only boot up into it occasionally, as I still prefer Windows 7. But anyway, its good to have you aboard mate!

LittleJay: I recently learned about Classic Shell and StartIsBack (two different options, not to be combined as far as I can tell) for Windows 8 users who still prefer Windows 7:

    Welcome to Classic Shell (free)

StartIsBack - real start menu in Windows 8 ($3.00 through PayPal, but it looks well worth it)

Hi TwoCables. I see you are a fellow Minnesotan.
I use Ex7forWin8, which is a small program which imports the start menu from a Windows 7 installation DVD and allows you to switch back and forth with the Windows 8 start screen.
