Hi everyone!
I have just recently joined the forum, so I figured I would introduce myself, since I'm finding the forum to be a pretty cool place to hang out, talk hardware/software, and help people with their IT problems. I can remember when I first started to mess around with computers, and how frustrating it could be to try and get some decent advice. So I'm here to help John Q. Public in any way I can, and hopefully save some poor souls from ripping their hair out, or tossing a perfectly good PC out a third story window. We have all been there, haven't we?
Anyway, I have spent the majority of my life working as a Diesel Technician, doing anything & everything to the big semi's you see going down the highway. I loved this work, but hesitantly decided to try something else out, because the physical demands of wrenching became too much for me to bear [without medicating myself, which turned into a pretty bad problem there for a while]. So I'm currently in the process of starting my own business, where I will be offering a number of services as an Remote IT Technician. The clients will download and install an application that will allow me [or future employees] to connect to their computer, and repair whatever needs attention. I like this plan because the entire planet is my target clientele, and I can work from just about anywhere I choose, without any required heavy lifting and so forth. So, right now I'm researching different online schools to bolster my IT knowledge, as well as taking some business classes for that end of the business.
That is pretty much where I am at right now folks. Hope I didn't bore you to death!
