Hi. I'm strictly an amateur user searching out solutions on an as and when needed basis. The recently enforced upgrade from XP to Win 7 created a whole host of unanticipated problems & this forum has been an invaluable guide in solving them. As much as anything I wanted to take the opportunity to say thanks for the work you guys put in here (especially Brink who's tutorials have been brilliant).

Having said that I do have a question I'd like to post about the (necessarily) re-installed XP but it would equally relate to the same issue in Win 7. If you'd rather I took it elsewhere as being OT, just say so.

Welcome to Seven Forums Ian. Go ahead and post it in one of the forums here. Many of us had XP at one time, and if it also relates to 7, then it's all good. A Guy

I'm new too! I was looking for shell32 stuff to replicate the keyboard shortcuts that disappears when you close explorer.exe (yeah try win+r and you'll get the you shall not pass sound). As a lurker I've learned how to use VBS a little (thank you Kari!), which at the same time let me see how to use shell32 methods (thank you again Kari, all in one post you rock).

So, this is a bit more than a Windows 7 forum for me. Although I do have several 7 laptops hanging around.
