New GPU Drivers Cause Screen To Turn Off

I put my new 560 GTX into my case, booted up, installed the appropriate drivers, rebooted, and then my screen "enters power save mode" while loading Windows 7 OS.

I can boot into safe mode, uninstall the drivers, and then reboot into normal mode without them. So it seems to be a driver issue.

How can I successfully boot Windows 7 and enjoy my new card?

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Hard Drive: 984 GB
Video Card: PNY 560 GTX 1GB
PSU: 600w Corsair

The first two things to look at would be the power supply and the card itself.
It might not hurt to try a second monitor just in case you have access to one too.

Both PSU and GPU are no more than a day old.

It is 100% something to do with the drivers, and I know many people have had this issue.

I've read somewhere that maybe my refresh rate is too high and that is why it's powering off so quickly. How can I change the hertz when I can't even boot?

It's probably the monitor.
You can always just try older drivers if you are just convinced nvidia is out to get you.

Seems like it is only the monitor, quite upsetting cause I only have two monitors in my household and both are Dell.

Everything continues to run when this happens by the way. It's not like my whole system goes dark and shuts off. My monitor just falls asleep

Downloaded that driver, was able to log in but was greeted with BSOD...booted in safe mode and uninstalled and now we're back to square 1.

Reinstalled OS and same thing, monitor enters power save mode...

I will try this now and report back with results.

Also on the live chat with Nvidia but that isn't doing much.

have you set the display to shut off after 1 minute?

Installing drivers, set the display to turn off "never" going to reboot, hoping for the best.
