Monitor goes blank before "welcoming screen"

    Hello guys,

My pc has a problem lately. Whenever it sleeps, the monitor was like turn off forever even though i moved my mouse or pressing any keyboard button. Then i tried to restart it, everything was fine till the windows logo, but then suddenly monitor went blank just exactly before the welcoming screen. Then i tried use keyboard shortcut to shut down my pc even though the monitor went blank. Suddenly my pc shut down, and concluded from that, my monitor was FINE.

I was thinking that maybe it was software faults or viruses, so i got my friend to re-installing my windows 7. He also installing some software and some drivers, then i managed to install some software that he didn't install, like chrome,CCleaner etc. Yeah everything was fine till i tried to restart my pc. and VOILA, i have the same issue just life before. My friend told me, it was driver corrupt but he was not so sure.

Do you guys has any solution for the issue? Any comments will be appreciated

    Thank you

" the monitor was like turn off forever even though i moved my mouse or pressing any keyboard button."

I have had a similar experience, except with my hp pavilion dv7, the monitor was normal. Then one day, the screen went black never to come back (after a shutdown ) - period. It seems to come up okay except no screen. Could it be a broken connector/wire? Could it be a boot problem?
    Thanks for any ideas.

Did you try to boot on safe mode?

The problem with my issue on the blank screen is that I have no way to get response on the screen. It's like trying to see the other side of a wall thru a closed door

Boot on safe mode, launch msconfig, disable all services but MS and disable all startup programs.
