    Automatically rebuild icon cache problem?

Originally had this problem a while back (Spywareblaster's icon is generic in taskbar? icon for Spywareblaster file application and for taskbar pinned shortcut, but it was solved. Now for some strange reason, Spywareblaster's icon has reverted back to a generic one.

I tried Brink's tutorial downloading the Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat file (Icon Cache - Rebuild) to automatically reestablish the icon database. However, after several tries, I still had the generic icon to deal with. I then tried the manual approach and it worked on the first try. Any idea why?

Change your display color depth from 32bit to 16bit and viceversa, see if the icons rebuild properly.
