Administrator Problem

Have a new personal ThinkPad with Windows 7. Tried to set up in Word and was directed to Documents and Settings, but found it had become hidden (I had seen it in a prior session). When I typed in the name, I was told it was available only to the Administrator - which of course is me. How can I overcome this problem?
