bootmgr error after trying to delete partition off OS disk

Hey everbody,

I have an OCZ Agility 3 as well as a Crucial M4 SSD – I thought I’d setup everything right but then noticed that the drive only had 100 mb available while following some steps from Sean’s SSD Optimization guide (I finished Step 3, didn't go to Step 4). I went into disk management, saw that the Agility drive was unallocated and that the drive I was seeing in “Computer” was actually just a 100 mb partition of the Crucial M4. The M4 has the OS and some games installed on it, the Agility has no data whatsoever (installed by me, at least).

I then created a new simple volume for the Agility, unassigned the partition drive letter, then tried to delete the partition, though the system didn’t allow me to (I had confused enabling the Agility drive with simply creating a partition so I thought I should get rid of the partition). After restarting, I’m getting the bootmgr missing error, which leads me to the conclusion that I definitely messed something up.

* I’ve tried using my original install disc to do a recovery install but then I get the error that:
“This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows.”

* I’ve also skipped to the command prompt and tried to run the bootrec commands to no avail. The bootrec /scanos command recognizes that Windows is installed on the Crucial M4 but I can't rebuild anything off of it.

* I also tried to Custom Install on my drives and am told that I cannot install Windows on either Partition 1 or 2 of my Crucial or the Agility 3. I still see the 100 mb partition there marked as "Primary" while the bigger partition with the actual OS files is marked "System. The error message reads:
“Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.”

I'm not sure what else I can do at this point. I just tried unplugging the drives and observed the following:
* If both drives are plugged in, then I am unable to do a custom install of Windows onto any of the M4 partitions or the Agility
* If the M4 is plugged in (but the Agility is not), then I also cannot install onto either partition
* If only the Agility is plugged, then I **can** install Windows and go into the repair install windows but there is no OS, obviously.

Ok, so my questions/pleas:
- Do you know of a way I might be able to reverse whatever it was that I did? It seems like it should be possible because the OS seems to be there but I just built the system last week so I really shouldn't say anything.
- If I format the partitions and disks, will I be able to start over without having to reinstall firmware updates?

Check your optical drives, USB ports, and floppy drives for media. Often times, the "BOOTMGR is Missing" error will appear if your PC is trying to boot to a non-bootable disc, external drive, or floppy disk.

Note: If you find that this is the cause of your issue and it's happening regularly, you might want to consider changing the boot order in BIOS so the hard drive is listed as the first boot device.

Perform a Startup Repair of Windows. This type of installation should replace any missing or corrupt files, including BOOTMGR.

Even though a Startup Repair is a common solution for BOOTMGR problems, don't worry if it doesn't fix your problem. Just continue troubleshooting - something will work.

The error trying to boot DVD is likely because it doesn't have SP1.

Download the latest official ISO with SP1 to burn to DVD or write to flash stick with Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool.

Boot in to System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair repeatedly, then if unsuccessful try System Restore.

If these fail work through these additional steps for when Windows 7 fails to boot
