"Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue." Error
Hi, I hope I'm not asking this for the millionth time here, as I tried a search but am afraid it all just confused me more.
I believe my problem is related to the Dell all-in-one printer I want to work with my Dell laptop. Recently, Windows updated and I now get this message again upon start up:
REQUIRED SYSTEM SOFTWARE NOT INSTALLED.
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue.
This software is available for free download at
Microsoft Download Center
I cannot remember how I fixed it before, or if a general windows update fixed it, but it's doing it again now. I searched online and found this: Microsoft .Net Framework error message? - Microsoft Windows Vista Community Forums - Vistaheads and I followed the instructions only as far as opening up the Windows Features window, as I'm unsure what "Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation" and the other "non-HTTP" things are, and what will happen or not happen if I successfully turn either or both on in an attempt to get that above error message to go away...
So basically, I wanted to ask if there was an easy to understand answer somewhere as to how to fix the issue of that error message upon start up. I've uninstalled the printer and reinstalled, but I continue to get that message. I remember trying to look for the drivers online and only becoming more confused. :/
Just incredibly paranoid I'll change something on the computer and it won't start up, because I depend on this computer for my masters thesis work at the moment.
Thanks, and apologies if this has been answered before >_>
