    Recording laptop question..

My step dad wants to buy a computer... willing to spend 1000$
    With
    24 bit 192khz sound card
or at least 24 bit 96khz

The reason is so he can plug in a line input or firewire input.. Recording guitar, and vocals.

can you guys help me find a laptop listed brand new for sale that we can order?

    Thank you (:

    Dear 2010MegaScooter,
    Try this link: http://www.jr.com/asus/pe/ASU_XONARD1/

It costs a fraction of what you are willing to pay! All the best. It's nice that there are concerned daughters/sons around!
    regards,

    Dear 2010MegaScooter,
I was giving you the price of the sound card alone! Informed sources tell me that if you buy an ASUS laptop and the above sound card, the price will be one half of what you are willing to pay! I am giving you two links, one for the laptop and the other for the sound card, both from newegg! Hope this helps!

    Newegg.com - ASUS X54C-NS92 Notebook Intel Pentium B960(2.2GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW Intel HD Graphics

    Newegg.com - 24 bit 192khz sound card

    best wishes,

Thanks friend, I have a question about the computer itself... does it have the audio card with it? I did not see that it specified that...

    Thanks.. :)

Any current laptop will have sound capability, typically as part of the motherboard.

Whether it will meet your requirements is another question.

You can always get an external sound card if necessary.

Laptops aren't the ideal machine for the purpose because you have little control over the internal sound card.

I'd try a post in the sound section of this forum for better advice--specify that a high quality recording laptop is your goal.
