Windows 7: Change/remove entries in "Folder view" pane (left side of Explorer)

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Change/remove entries in "Folder view" pane (left side of Explorer)

is this possible?
I currently have things like Favourites, Libraries, and Homegroup (all of which I don't care for). Not sure what that folder pane is actually called, so not sure what to search for.
I just want an expanded folder tree of My Computer.

Any suggestions?

Favorites - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane for Favourites apparently. still not sure about libraries or homegroup]
[another edit:
Libraries Folder - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane
for Libraries
ok, at least it's searchable now that I know it's called navigation pane]

I'm not sure why one would do this. Right click on what ever you don't want and select delete. Be very sure you want to do this. Those things do no harm being there.

Well, I've tried that (though of course you had no way of knowing I had) and there's no option in the context menu to remove certain entries.

Found the post for Homegroup too (Homegroup - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane).

Sorry about this lol, someone can close this or preferably delete it.

As for justification for wanting to do so, it's mainly preference, but I don't really like the hodge podge abstractions here. Never wanted to ever use a library (I can just about imagine someone wanting to virtually merge two folders, but they obstruct navigation for me). I mount other PCs' shares as network drives directly under My Computer, so Homegroup is redundant.
All of my "favourites" are only level deep in my second hard drive, so there's no need to have a duplicate listing.

thanks for the reply though, always nice to have a response.

you stated "...there's no option in the context menu to remove certain entries."

aah but there is--see this link:

Remove Useless Items From Right-Click Context Menu By Hacking Registry

the info applies to Vista but the registry setting are all there in win7 (as long as you are comfortable with editing the registry).

remove the "open" and "merge" entries from context menu?
safe to assume its impossible to remove the "open" and the "merge" entries from the context menu? I figure if i want to open or merge them i would simply double click. Clutter and redundency in this vein dont suit me :P
Changing "Computer" and "Network" icons in explorer navigation pane
Does anybody know how I can change these icons? I changed the default icon for the network one in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F02C1A0D-BE21-4350-88B0-7367FC96EF3C} but it didn't change. Appreciate any help, B
Windows 7 Explorer -- Change how "+" displays folders in the left pane
I click on the "+" beside the icon of a drive or folder near the bottom of the left pane of my Windows 7 Explorer. If the list of sub folders that opens is longer than the distance to the bottom of the pane, the lower icons become hidden. Those subfolders extend "below" the pane -- out of view. I...

The Navigation Pane on the left side of Windows Explorer
My problem is how the left window reacts when I select a folder. If I have a long list of folders in the left window and I click on the small arrow to the left of a folder, it is supposed to show the list of sub-folders that are in the selected folder. It does but here is my problem. Lets...

Hello, After much googling, I turn back to this forum in search of an answer to my question - is there a way to switch my explorer navigation pane back to the original/left side? I recently changed my theme to a 3rd party one (Browsing deviantART) and love it.. except that the navigation pane is...
