My laptop fan run too slow, my CPU is really hot!

There's some discussions about x86 vs. x64 where x64 seems to run considerably hotter on laptops. You running x64 by any chance?

I'm sure you will not have to return to XP, having to return to that or Vista is a form of torture beyond comprehension. =)

I've seen this problem before with other laptops. Let me look into it a bit, have you made sure all your drivers are updated? (check Device Manager to see if any are having problems)

Could also be a physical cause such as dust or dirt plugging up the fan or the airflow somewhere in the cooling system. You could try opening the box up and looking for dust or dirt.

I hope this doesn't apply to you but my laptop started displaying somewhat similar symptoms just before the system board self destructed. It's in the shop now getting a new system board (under warranty fortunately).

If its still under warranty (the OP's laptop) and he opens it up, I believe warranty is voided.

There are fan control apps that you can change the profile in so it starts earlier and stops later. Just goggle fan control.
