    Changing Windows Explorer's Navigation Pane

    Good day to all,

I'm trying to fix a small annoyance of mine with Windows Explorer. I would like the "Computer" to be permanently expanded. Here are some images that will clarify what I am trying to accomplish. The 1st image is what my navigation pane currently looks like, the 2nd is what I would like for it to look like

    1st Image

    2nd Image

I would also like to remove certain items in the Navigation pane that I don't use such as "Network" and/or "Control Panel" if possible. I have tried a program that was suggested in another post which was suggested by the user mickey megabyte and can be found [URL="[/URL] . However sadly, this program did not remove any of these unwanted items.

I wasn't certain which forum to post this question in so I went with General Discussion. As per my usual etiquette, if anyone can help me reach a solution I will update my post with a clear guideline on how to fix the problem so that future users won't have to ask the same question.

    Thanks

Your images aren't visible, nor is your link to the other thread.

Edit your post and make sure your html tags are correct.

    Hello Missionman,

I find that unchecking Show all folders for the navigation pane, clicking on Computer to expand it, then close Windows Explorer works well for me for this. Windows Explorer will open the same way next time as it was last closed for how you had Computer expanded or not.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

As well as Brink's suggestion you could also use the My Computer shortcut below which will position the selection on computer

    Computer - Pin to Taskbar
