Taskbar Item Position of New Icons

I was wondering if there is a way to make any new program icons that come up on the taskbar to be displayed on the right, or after the last program icon?

Example: I have several programs running and Outlook is the first item in the taskbar (next to the start button) and when Outlook has a reminder, it opens next to the Outlook icon, in the second position.

Looking for new items to display as the last icon, not placed in between open program icons.

    Thx.

    Hello Microsvc,

You can drag icons around on the taskbar into any position/order you like with the other icons. :)

I understand that, but that's not what I was asking. I want NEW taskbar items to show up at the end of the other taskbar items, not in the middle of the current ones.

When you open another instance of program that has a icon already opened on the taskbar, it will open it to the right of the icon already on the taskbar by default since all items for the same program are kept grouped next to each other. There's not a way to change this behavior that I'm aware of. Only openening new programs that do not already have a icon on the taskbar will open to the far right of the other icons by default.

Brink - thanks. I was afraid of that behavior not being tweakable.

You're welcome. Sorry it's not unless some 3rd party program that I don't know of may be out there that will.

I found this 3rd party utility that will do it.
    7 Taskbar Tweaker - RaMMicHaeL's home page

You nave to select "Don't group" and keep it rinning in the tray (I have it hidden).

    Thanks for all the replies.
