ok here is another issue.. i pressed f12 on the boot screen in order to boot from my USB, and it is not doing anything. it just froze in that screen, so i turned it off and tried with my windows 7 CD and it is frozen just like my USB! so i cant boot from the CD or USB. it worked like 30 minutes ago when i tried!?!

Reboot into BIOS setup and set DVD drive to boot first, then HD: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

Save changes and exit BIOS, place 7 DVD In tray and reboot, watch for prompt to Press Any Key.

Once you boot into DVD, follow these steps to mark Win7 or it's 100mb boot Partition (preferred) Active: Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)

Once completed, close Command Box and click Repair My Computer, run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

ok i got my win7 CD to work but not my usb. il try above step

It does the same thing.

file system check is just a precaution- always worth a go after merging.

EDIT: so i followed all the step and it successfully activated drive 0, but when i click startup repair, it says "Select the driver, insert the installation media and click OK" but there is no driver.any help?

Don't put brackets on the number. Type this:

Sel dis 0 (if 0 is the Win7 HD)
List part
Sel part # (replace # with the # of the 100mb System Reserved partition or Win7 partition)
Active
exit

Now go to second DVD screen to choose Repair my Computer, run Startup Repair x3.

Which partition did you mark Active? How did you determine it is the correct one?

What happens before you click Startup Repair? Does it find an installation to repair when you boot into Repair My Computer? Try booting in again to see.

there was a disk 0 and disk 1. Disk 0 said it had 150 GB, and disk 1 said it had about 3 MB. so i guessed that disk 1 has more space, so it must be the one i should make it active.
