Have you run Startup Repair 3 separate times with both the 100mb and the WIn7 partitions marked Active?

Did you try restoring the MBR using the command SIW2 gave you?

We see many cases where GRUB installed on the Win7 HD corrupts Win7 beyond repair. The only way to overcome it is to wipe the HD and clean reinstall.

Do you have your files backed up so that you can wipe the HD to Clean Reinstall Win7?

What is your computer make and model?

What are you talking about here. What previous hard drive ? I think you should just reinstall. Delete all partitions during the setup.

Do you want to reinstall ???

If they are not corrupted by the unnecessary Merge operation then you can browse in to copy out files to external HD, flash stick or another HD using the DVD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Are you absolutely sure you marked the bigger Win7 partition 2 active, then ran Startup Repair 3 separate times with reboots?

If so follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 once you copy your Dad's files out.
