PC skips BIOS splash screen and goes straight to login screen

    Correct, you are not supposed to turn on the PC when using the jumper. The jumper bypasses the circuit for the battery and you shouldn't even keep the PC plugged in while using the jumper.

    Unplug the power cable and remove battery if applicable, hold in the Power button for several seconds to drain power from parts.
