Windows 7: Posting System Specs

I thought the easiest way was how I posted for them to do it.
There are some many different ways to find your specs. So the best way
their choice. but System Specs are REALLY NECESSARY. Also I would like to see the MOD's. move all STOLEN THREADS to another thread.
I have never seen 2 people have the exact same PROBLEM , many have simular. but NEVER THE SAME...

Many times you see threads over 10 to 15 posts and 3 or 4 haveing the EXACTLY SAME problems. then it gets confusing as H*ll on who is trying to help who on what problem.

I also think it would be nice If a MOD edits a post: Why was it edited, If I make an ERROR i would like to see what I did wrong, so I can correct and NOT make that ERROR again.

I agree that posting system specs first, is quite necessary... especially if/when you're asking for help.

It's also redundant to post the same question (same member) in more than of the forums here, because as Snuffy said, we don't know who's already helped you, or what you've already tried and done.

that Dxdaig is a nice tool in the first responders toolkit. Because of SF gadget Im usually one (and tews, and kari) of the first ppl to reply to a problem. More than half the time no specs. Some ppl dont know how and we walk them thru it, some dont care or get offended. You know how tough it can be just to get them filled in.

Just wanted to say thanks for the dxdiag

Thanks Guys, I didn't realize how EASY it was to present your specs on this site. The template is there and all you have to do is fill in the blanks. I used the Belarc Advisor and copied and pasted the info.

Yes, that extra 1GB IS video memory. I am dual booting Vista32bit and windows7 64 bit. When I am in Vista 32 bit my memory shows as 2GB of ram in system properties. Right now I am in Win7 64 bit.
My Ram total is: 2495MB
My Ram used is: 1041MB
My Ram Free is: 1453MB

Took me almost 3 pages of posting to help a guy find out his laptop model... Went for lunch and when I came back he was sorted out...

Can we use the "Report Post" triangle button to alert mods when a post needs to be moved to a new thread? Or is that for other things? I have only used it once ... not sure ...

I noticed a day or so ago that when I clicked on "My Specs' button on bottom of a post that it said to update them so did kinda do a couple of them but that notice is still there. Anything I left blank is because I don't know the answer. When I first did My Specs months ago I used some download...

Hello, I'm a newbie and need help. I'm not sure my system specs are complete-wasn't sure what parts and pieces are in my laptop: HP dv9700 Pavilion, Centrino duo CPU. I did go to the system information and copied that. My OS is Win 7 home premium, 32 bit, upgraded from Vista home. So far, no...
