I have done all of those things. The running of the program isn't the issue, it's that I cannot run it in compatability mode, the option to is missing compleatly.
Edit: and yes, I am the admin, and have run it in administrator mode, etc etc.
Not sure if you are still having this problem, but I believe it could be a group policy issue.
open gpedit.msc
go to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Troubleshooting and Diagnostics\Application Compatibility Diagnostics\
If those are set to disable, you will not get a compatibility tab.
Please help i have the same problem and have done everything said in this forum?
When i go to gpedit.msc i start by selecting,
Computer Configuration and then as soon as i select
Administrative Templates it says... MMC cannot initialize the snap-in?
The same error here - but as I'm running Win7 64bit Home Premium I don't even have gpedit.msc. No idea what to try.
Hi zipper,
You could try merging the reg file in this zip folder and see if that helps:
COMPATMENU.zip
Regedit can't write into the registry as some keys have been opened by system/other process.
Most of the entries would have been merged - does it make any difference?
Otherwise, you could try a repair install - it is in the tutorial section , but you need the installation media.
No difference -and I haven't even checked what functions do not work giving 0x80070057 error; at least all diagnostics launched from Control Panel do give it. Might do a repair - or restore from a backup.
