My PC Has To Be Forced To Shutdown - Windows 7 64 bit

Hello. This is my first post as I just joined. I hope I am doing things right! My PC will not shutdown properly. When I try to shutdown a screen will appear saying 'Sidebar.exe' asking me to force the shutdown. All of the Gadgets disappear but it only leaves one Gadget, the currency gadget on the desktop and then the forced shutdown screen appears asking me to force shutdown. I think the Sidebar.exe stops responding at shutdown. This started to happen not long ago and happens everytime. Any ideas? I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Now not only the currency gadget, it seems other gadgets too.
I had done some checks on my own like closing the gadgets and see if it happens, and it still happens. Any ideas or solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

Hello OJHK and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's possible that you have damaged or corrupt system files preventing a normal shut down. Try running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two, this tutorial.) If any problems are noted run the scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If the SFC doesn't help I'd next try the suggestions in this Microsoft Answers forum thread.

Hi, sorry for such a long time to reply as I was busy with my studies so I didn't care much, living with it. Until I got tired of it, I did a solution which was to delete and create back a account on Windows 7. I think it may be an account error?? I'm still curious of what have caused the problem. In fact, so unlucky that after my desktop had this problem, my laptop had it too!! Its weird. I just want to know what may have caused it. The only thing I did after so long is to delete the account and recreate. Its just a little troublesome as I need to back-up some folders. So to anyone out there who experience this problem, please share your knowledge/solutions here just in case I or anyone else happen to have the problem again.
