Date/Time jumps after correct setting of date/time/timezone?

    Date/Time jumps after correct setting of date/time/timezone?


    Have set the correct time zone, set the date and time, and within half an hour, the time jumps ahead significantly. Time then continues jumping periodically, and date as well. Any patch available for this?

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

    Perhaps a change of cmos battery is needed. What is happening is a sign of the battery having packed up.

Living out here I like to hve my date set as day month year but cannot find nay easy way to change it after several Googles have left me thoroughly bemused by strings of code SQL settings etc etc Anyone?
The clock on my computer is approximately 15 minutes slow. If I manually change it, or force an online update, it briefly shows the correct time before reverting back to the incorrect time.
At night, when I power down my Vista desktop, the time gets changed to the wrong time, but the date remains correct. Could this still be the CMOS battery? Thanks
