hard disk usage by folder

    That could work but the OP specifically asked for it to be viewable in windows explorer. As far as I can find out, it's Win 7 itself that won't support that kind of information, like it could in XP.

    I'm not sure if there are any utilities for showing the folder size in Windows Explorer, but there are some standalone utilities, you can try WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics or TreeSize Free - Quickly Scan Directory Sizes and Find Space Hogs to find out which folder is using how much space.
    WinDirStat is awesome - a great tool for seeing what's going on with your disk space.
