Things are going terribly wrong...

Hey everyone. I'm using Windows 7 and all of a sudden these problems have started occurring out of no where. First I'll start that my notifications icons on the bottom left of the screen keep disappearing. I don't know why and when I try to enable it it's gryed out. I did a search and found a regedit which would fix the problem I had and it did indeed work. But after a few restarts the same thing happened again and it was gone. If you're curious on what the icons are it is the sound icon, network icon and few others.


My next problem is Windows would not shut down. I don't know why... I select shutdown all the programs close and it stalls at, Shutting Down Computer. I've waited hours and it still stayed like that, heck I've even left it on over night and it was still shutting down.

Has anyone else came across these problems? I so far did a system restore which did fix my problem temporarily, but happened again shortly after. I also did a check dsk & reinstalled Seven and I'm still suffering from this problem. I would really appericate the help thanks!

First thing we could use you to fill in your system specs (lower left corner) so we know what kind of hardware you have. 32bit or 64? Clean install or upgrade?

I'm currently using 32 Bit version and Build 7600 and I did a Upgrade. Oh and I can't run any exe of my DVD drive. Something weird is reallyl happening. I also ran virus scan and it didn't fix anything.

I really don't know what to do now...

Here, you'll find everyone suggests clean installs, because upgrades can cause many unforeseen problems. I suggest to you trying a simple clean install. :)

That would mostly likely fix the problem, but I don't want to lose all my stuff.

Also, get Malwarebytes' Antimalware and run it as well. I have a feeling that you have been infected by something for a long time and it is now time-bombing your system since after the upgrade....

Also, please fill in your system specs underneath your nickname on the left - there is a link that says "My system specs" - click on that and you'll see an additional link that says "Update your system specs" - click that.

Please be as specific as possible - for example, not just W7, but build and architecture (mine is W7 Ultimate x64 RTM (RTM is build 7600)

Alright I'll run more anti virus scans on it when I get the chance.
