    Icons in My computer keep disappearing and thumbnail problems


    Hi,
    I am having major problems with not being able to access any folders/drives/dvds etc..
    sometimes they show up and other times they dont it drives me mental can anyone help.

    the other problem is if i go into a folder with a lot of pictures some have thumbnails but most dont.

    Do you run any programs like ccleaner, or any other kind of system cleaning program. They tend to remove thumbnail caches.

    Uncheck the box that says Thumbnail Cache and this should resolve your issue :)

    umm, that one im not really sure about.
    click the start icon
    type cmd.exe right click it and run as admin
    once that opens type sfc -scannow

    ^^ will check for system file errors.

    There's a typo in your post, it should be;

    sfc /scannow

    Of course, I have never made a typo...what's all that noise, is someone laughing?

    umm it will run with - or / I personally prefer - as its more natural for me to type.

    I began using computers back in the DOS days and always used "/" as a switch, so it is second nature for me. I never tried using anything else, thus, my thought you made a typo.
