bootmgr problem, system working with win7 DVD

    C: should have a boot folder and bootmgr file in the root of the drive. The boot folder must contain a file called bcd. These are all hidden and system files which both will need to be shown through folder options.

    ok did that now.
    when restarted it pulled out the CD and it didnt work, got a message something that boot dosnt work, then hade to go back into the repair/recovery to get it back up with the CD.
    btw. i dont have an other PC here, so this is the only way to get online.

    Yes, C drive has a boot folder in the windows folder.
    What error message did you get exactly? Do the 2 bootrec commands again please and post the error you get afterwards at boot

    bootrec commands succeeded succesfully?

    Have you unchecked "Hide protected operating sytem files" as well?

    With hidden files shown, protected operating system files unhidden do you have a boot folder and bootmgr file in the root of the drive C:?

    no i hadnt, but now i have, thank you. didnt know about that.
    and yes, i do have a boot folder and the bootmgr file there.
