    Computer clock seems to lag?


    I have a digital clock that is synched with time.gov. but the PC clock always seems to lose seconds compared to it.

    Probably your cmos battery. Check it and/or replace

    check or replace? how is this done, is it easy? PC is exactly 1 yr old.

    If just under a year, probably still under warranty. If more than a year still under warranty if you bought a contract.

    Is it losing seconds or has it always been behind?

    If it has always been behind, go to "Adjust date/time", Internet Time, Change settings, Synchronize with an Internet time server, Server: time.windows.com or time.nist.gov.
    Press Update now. Press OK.

    If you've already tried that, then changing the battery, as suggested would be the next thing to do.

Sorry for being vague, Sometimes, about 5 times a week, my computer clock will move 3 hours backwards. As if it were switching to Pacific Time Zone, but my time zone stays at Eastern Time Zone. I really don't know what is wrong.. Thanks for the help.
