Can't Delete Folder - Item Not Found

I have tried searching for a solution but nothing works. I have this empty .ini file with no name in this folder I want to delete that is located on a memory card.

Everytime I try to delete I get an error saying that it could not find this item. I tried using a program that another topic on this problem said to use which was called 'Unlocker' but it didn't work.

    Can someone help me?

The name of the file you want to delete is named ".ini"? Nothing before the dot (period)?

Have you opened a command prompt to view a dir listing to see how it looks from that context? Might be helpful to add the switches /a/x and post a screenshot.

Have you tried deleting the file in Safe Mode? Also, try taking ownership of the folder: Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums

I tried safe mode and taking ownership but it still won't let me delete the file.

If the name is actually "" (blank) - are you showing or hiding extensions in that listing? - it might be an "illegal" file name, as are names with certain characters (":" is one). If the other, much easier methods don't work, you should be able to delete it by booting from a linux "live" CD and deleting it from there.

    Failed solutions:
    1. Right-click delete (item not found)
    2. Right-click rename (item not found)
    3. Command line DEL & RD (item not found)
    4. Take ownership (No security options available)
    5. Map folder as network drive
    a. Command line DEL & RD (item not found)
    b. Right-click rename (item not found)
    6. Task Manager > kill explorer, retry above steps (item not found)
    7. Software solutions (item not found):
    a. ICALC
    b. Unlocker
    c. Remove Empty Directories

    Successful solution:
    1. Download 7zip
    2. Browse to folder
    3. Right-click rename (successful)
    4. Close 7zip
    5. Browse to folder > right-click delete

Microsoft file system loves to show it’s ass sometimes, doesn’t it?
