My Documents won't open when I hit any "Browse" option.

    Hello everyone.

Like the title says, my files will not open up when I try to browse my files, like when I try to change my skype profile picture, when I try to attach a document in an email, or when I try to "Save As" a new files in Microsoft word.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, it's an Alienware M11x laptop with an Intel Core i7 CPU, and I have strange feeling that this problem is due to a conflict between windows aero and the alienware skin theme that came already installed from the factory, but I honestly have no clue as to what's going on. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    MrStelth

    Stelth,

could you make a snippet of where you show trying to save/open a file?

    Make a snapshot (Snip)
WIN | type SNIP | ENTER | New
Drag the cursor around the area you want to snip.
File | Save as | select save location and name | Save

WIN=key with the Microsoft logo on top.

Thanks for responding, okay so here's what I have so far. I start out with a word document

Then I go into the file option to hit save as

After I hit save as, it brings me back here instead of letting me name the file, and no file has been saved

Just something abstract, but do you have a mouse with tons of features? I had stupid option on that double clicks on one click or triple clicks and it messed things up.

Do you have problems with opening icons?

    event3horizon,

I actually just use the trackpad most of the time, unless I'm playing some specific games, during which I use a two button mouse with a wheel. Nothing too fancy.

And no I don't have any trouble opening icons. But just something I noticed while uploading these images, I can save files in notepad, worpad, and this snip program just fine, and I was able to open my documents to upload these images, but the problem still persists with skype, word and my email.

    Thanks again!

what email program do you use?

In word, did you click on the 2nd item on the left, Save As.
Be sure you don't click on save which but rather Save As

    event3horizon,

I repaired my Word program, but the problem is still persisting.

    karlsnooks,

I've tried it on my gmail, aol, and yahoo email accounts, but I have not been able to attach files on any of them. And yes, I'm sure I hit the save as button, and I've also tried ctrl+s, as well as closing out of word and hitting save when it tells me that I will lose the data if I don't save the document.

    Thanks again.

Have you considered: Uninstall Office completely. Install Office completely. Update Office completely.

I realize that is a time consuming sequence.

Well I had the same problem with Open Office, which I wiped and re-installed on my computer more than a few times in an attempt to get it to save. Then I got Word 2010 because it was I thought it would solve the problem, but Word had the same problems. I'm more than convinced that it has not as much to do with the actual Word program than it has to do with there being a problem with the "My Documents" window popping up, if that makes any sense.
