    'Open with' wont expand.

    Morning all.

I have tested with a number of different file formats and 'Open with' is displayed, but wont expand. The problem started at the end of last week and I have no idea why.
I have tried removing and restoring 'Open with' but it hasn't made a difference.

    Any help is much appreciated.

The first thing to do is a System Restore to before the problem started, see if that fixes it.

Click Start, type system restore and press enter to get there. Pick a date prior to when this started.

Thanks for the reply, sadly the only restore point I had was the day after the problem started. Tried it anyway, but no luck!

Install ShellExView, see if there is anything int here that may be causing a problem. Concentrate on the ones in pink as they are ones that have been added on top of Windows. Quite likely a bad shell extension is causing the problem.

Read the article at the web site for some ideas on how to use it: Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Excellent!! Thanks very much, that has sorted it. It was Mediafire uploader that did it.

    Thanks again.

Great! Glad you got it fixed. ShellExView is not for the faint of heart but a great tool for things like this.
