file access problems [solved]
hello fellow windows 7 users, i've just recently discovered this awesome forum with everything windows 7.
since i've been having some problems with a particular situation, perhaps some of you can help me with this.
i've recently upgraded from windows xp to windows 7, and i have an external hdd full of random stuff.
however, i seem to have a problem. i have "everyone" as the owner of hdd, given "everyone" full control of the hdd, but i still can't seem to modify files from random applications.
i'll give you an example.
i'm browsing my hdd, then i see some mp3s that i wanna hear. the default action for double-clicking them is enqueuing them in foobar2000. however, whenever i try to modify them from within foobar2000 it says access denied.
i've created a shortcut for foobar2000 that has administrator rights and has no problems modifying files, but the default foobar that is executed from enqueuing files in windows explorer has no such rights.
any chance anyone can help me with this?
thanks in advance
edit: okay, after trial and error (lots of it), i set myself as the owner of the content and removed every single user in the permissions tab. then i added myself only with full control and it works fine now.
thanks for the help anyway ^^
