windows 7 and quotes

    windows 7 and quotes


    When I use a quote I have to pres other key (space for example) to display the ' is there any way to stop that ? I want to display the ' then I first press it. Hope you understood me :)

    I think he means when he presses the quote he doesn't see it until he presses any key... ?

    it really should display ' straight away by default.

    are you from the us and using a us keyboard?

    Probably a font rendering problem. The hints for the ' character may be bad. Or did you change the desktop DPI? If so try changing it back, or try using a different system font?

    I know the bug should be fixed by MS of course, but as a work around...

    I think that is not a bug, not only the 7260 build has this problem i've tried a few other builds and they were the same.... stil beta :). No ahavan't changed anything it's was this way by default.

    Since it doesn't seem to be in the English version which uses a different font from yours most likely, the bug may be in the font itself, not allowing the proper spacing for the ' character. A different font may not have the problem, but it could also be in the renderer which needs to make a lot of descisions based on characters that preceed and follow each letter alont the way and only shows up with the current system font your version of W7 is using.
