How to organize folders within custom libraries?

    Hello Everyone,

I recently created a custom library that contains folders located in separate disks on my system. I noticed that I can't change the way they are displayed when I view my library. For example my library looks like this

    Library Camping Pics
    Last Summer
    Last Month
    Yesterday

I want the folders to be displayed like this
    Library Camping Pics
    Yesterday
    Last Month
    Last Summer

Can I organize the folders the way I want them to be displayed? I tried the little "Arrange By" dropdown thing, didn't do anything..

Prefix a number to the folder names...
Or set the sort as descending so Y comes before L.
    Right-click > Sort by > Descending

One of the problems with Libraries is that there are only five templates. General Items, Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos so that if you have more than five libraries you can't set their layout independently.

This doesn't work. For some reason the order does not change no matter what. I tried to select the library by single Left-click and going up to the "arrange by" control and nothing I select changes the order in which the folders are displayed. I even renamed them with a number prefix and the display still didn't change..

I'm certainly not looking to recreate the wheel all I want to do is to have the ability to organize my library like..well..a library. Doesn't make sense to me if I'm limited to having the order in which my folders are displayed within my library based completely on the order in which I've added them and nothing else.

OK, forgive my ignorance, I've right clicked and cannot find the "sort by" command. Is it within Windows Explorer somewhere?

Open the library and right click in an empty space not occupied by icons.

Thank You, but this still doesn't change the display order of the folders. I tried all the options and nothing changes..what am I doing wrong? I'm perplexed..
