explorer.exe random freezes when hitting windows key

title explains it mostly but i had this issue alot and decided to completely format my C:\ drive and reinstall windows. its happened once since the reinstall when i tried to play world of warcraft and i hit the windows key then my friend the loading circle cursor appeared and i couldnt do anything that used the explorer.exe it was completely frozen but my game worked fine.

looked at event viewer and saw this.
