Windows 7 asking for Password, but one was never set up Help

If this is has been posted before I'm sorry, I have spent 2 hrs searching threads with success. Here goes I have a Windows 7 Home premium I lost power the other night and when the power came on the computer rebooted and asked for a password for user. None was ever set up. An admin password was never set either. Can't log in, can't do anything. Do not have a reset disk. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

    Hello Jruhl,

A power cut wouldn't cause this. What were you doing before the power went off? Did you notice anything strange happening with the PC before it went off?

Try booting into recovery options and see if you can do a System Restore to before the problem occured.

Try System Restoring before the problem occurred, using the booted Win7 installation DVD System Recovery Options which aren't passworded.

Burdu77, This pc is for my Fire company It runs paging software to send calls out as a text or email. It has been running it for a long time with no issues. The hard drive was replaced last month due to it failing but still password being set up. I don't have the windows 7 home premium cd but I have my own windows 7 ultimate will that work?

You would need to download and burn an official home premium disc. This has Service Pack 1 already on the dvd.

Ok, report back and let us know how it goes. If it doesn't fix the issue then this forum can provide other solutions.
