Windows only boots when i use a bootable USB, HD has windows 7

Well after a very long long day of trial and error i thought i finally figured out the problem i was having and i would go on with restoring my data. unfortunately i am having a very strange issue.
i installed windows 7 on my hard drive using a bootable USB successfully and was able to access my desktop. Everything seemed to be fine but when i restarted the computer it gave an error- "Reboot and select proper boot device...". Next i hit F8 with my bootable USB plugged in (with windows 7 iso on it) hopping to re-install windows but it goes back to my desktop. I boot windows7 perfectly. When i take out the USB i get the same error message. This is so weird.

What could be the issue?

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Management drive map with listings.

Did you delete all partitions (after backing up all data) and create new ones with the installer as shown in Clean Install Windows 7?

I originally was trying to install windows 7 using my secondary computer but when i plugged it into my new computer i kept getting a BSOD. i read somewhere that you need to install windows using the NEW MOBO. My hard drive was already cleaned and formatted and i did a bunch of other stuff that i think wiped it completely. I installed windows and i loaded it up and it worked. But i restarted and there we see the problem, only loads when i choose USB as my boot option. I can access my hard drive however. When i dont choose that as the boot device i get a reboot and select proper boot device.

It's just a very peculiar thing. And with the USB installed when i try to click on the setup located on it (its a bootable USB) thinking this will install windows on my HD it says i don't have enough space. I have 800 gigs!?

The problem is that you don't have the System boot files on C, which should have System Active flags on it. Something interfered with the process, possibly old boot code remaining on the HD if it wasn't wiped using Diskpart Clean Command - formatting is irrelevant to that.

First Mark Win7 Partition Active which tells the Repair function where to write the System boot files, then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts without the flash stick.

If this fails try wiping with Diskpart Clean command to reinstall. If that fails wipe again and create an Active partition as given in step 2.2 here: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation.

I would also want to use the latest official installer iSO written to stick using the tool given in steps 1 and 2 in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Alright, i set the HD as active. Now i will be restarting the computer once these updates are installed and i will boot the USB and use start up repair. once i perform this 3 times i'll let you know what happens.

Question, if i use the diskpart operation to create paritions will i still be able to do it on the actual HD i am on? I only have one HD plugged in. Will it allow me to format this while i create the paritions?

Ok, i made the HD active and rebooted and now it says BOOTMGR is missing. Are we getting somewhere? When i try to start the repair by clicking on the bootable USB it just sends me back to my desktop. What to do from here!?

It wont let me clean the current disk containing the current boot...etc.
In diskpart it tells me there is 0 bytes of free space on the hard drive. How is this possible!? i have 800 gigs of free space.

i just copied and pasted the bootmgr into my root directory and now when i restart i get

Trying to trouble shoot all possibilities!

You still need to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times.

I would reset BIOS to defaults, then test the HD with maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan and Disk Check on the full disk partition.

Did you download latest ISO and write to flash stick with tool given?

Then set HD to boot first in BIOS setup, trigger stick to boot using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key - listed under USB, Removable or HD's. The stick should boot if it's being triggered correctly.

Please fill out your System specs in bottom left corner of post. I can't provide you with Boot menu key without knowing your computer or mobo make.

Update-
Problem was fixed. I used an Original Vista CD that to run repair and it booted right up by it self.
One more issue or non-issue.

When i use diskpart to list disk i see my primary HD as having 0B of free space but there is 900gbs of free space left on the disk. I can install windows now if i wanted using the usb stick (it used to say there isn't enough space) i can isntall things and download things but that 0Bytes has me confused.

Well I had just used a vista CD to repair my botched win7 installation.
I was just concerned about weather or not seeing 0 bytes free is list disk is normal. In my computer I have >800gbs of space free. Just a weird observation.
