Minimal install of win7 64 using vlite/RT7Lite

Hi peeps...

would like to reinstall win 7 but would also like to trim the fat as much as possible!

I use my PC for 3d animation using 3ds Max and blender,

I also occasionally play games on it...

I would like to strip out all the extra crap that I don't need to make my PC run as fast as possible but need to be sure that I can use my 3d software...

Would also like to keep the desktop gadgets or replace them with something else if there's anything out there...

Let me know what info you need so I can pull out as much of the bloatware as possible!!!

if you only want it for a few apps why not install W8 Release Preview -- It's very fast and its FREE until middle of January 2013.

Don't be scared by all the Metro stuff --you don't have to use it -- will take you about 5 mins to learn the navigation.

The other thing about W8 is you can make a Windows to Go system which can boot AND RUN from an external device (HDD or USB stick) so you can install your games etc AND TAKE IT WITH YOU -- just plug the HDD into another computer and boot from the USB !!!!. It's a fully functioning Windows portable system where you can install as many Windows applications as you like --incredibly useful as you can have all your recover tools etc on a nice bootable device too.

Now that's what I call Proper double booting -- you leave your normal machine intact with your W7 system but boot from the external device whne you need it.

Performance is fine if you have a decent USB2 (or better USB 3) connection.

Were you under the impression this is XP or Vista?

Win7 is the leanest Windows ever, featherlight and instantaneous with zero hangs ever when you get and maintain a perfect install on adequate hardware.

Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor first.

Install a SSD. Boom.
