Yes, you can create the Recovery disc from the TI program.
I'm pretty sure you can also use the Original CD to run TI and do Backups and Restores.
I use Acronis TI 2009.
Be sure to make the Acronis Rescue disk in case Win7 becomes unbootable. I also make my images from mine, as I don't like the services Acronis turns on in Win7 which I must keep editing.
It's risky to keep your backup image on the same HD.
If you have Acronis Univeral Restore on your version then you can also reimage to any other hardware.
The only way I've ever used (and will ever use) Acronis is to have a bootable CD and image from the installed HD to an external HD, using an external HD caddy. I don't see the point in having it constantly running on a PC.
