What is the exact model of your HP Laptop? Without knowing it, it's not possible to tell where and what you should download.

My mistake not to tell this to you earlier: you can completely forget HP Total Care Advisor and HP Health Check. They are of no use, never telling anything important. Most definetely they are not helping you to get your drivers.

Please check the model of your laptop and post it here.

I have the Pavilion dv4t-1400. The only reason I wanted Total Care was to update the drivers that arent available through the HP website or Windows Update. Like I said before I have an Unknown Device that has no driver and knows for sure that the Remote only turns on the laptop, but none of the other buttons like Windows Media Center work. Also the onscreen display of the volume bar does not work either...

If I do not need Health Check, then what can I use to atleast get the driver for the IR Remote?

    .

Look at the spec for you system..what does not show in devices that your system spec say you have.?
on older systems, many modems had sound, which if installed prior to the actually computer sound, then you had NO SOUND.
IBM had problems with Ird items. To figure out what is "unknown" only takes a little checking specs against what is not there.

You asking that question means it can't be the IR remote interface?
