    Why Explorer stops refreshing?

    Hi,

I've a problem with my 4 months old i7 laptop running Win7 Pro!
From time to time it seems that explorer stops to refresh...I explain! If I create a folder in desktop, or paste a file or folder to the desktop I only can see it if I hir refresh!!! For example if the trash bin is "full" and I "empty" it....ihe icon will be the "full" one! Only after I hit refresh the new state (empty in this case) will be seen!

    Any help? Thanks!

    Regards,
    paulo

This is a known issue in Windows 7 explorer.

Windows Explorer doesn't refresh when moving/deleting

You can try a "fix" here, and it may or may not help:

Exclude Explorer from Anti Vius scanning Solved it for me.

This problem has puzzled me for some time, Explorer would not update the folder list at all unless I pressed F5.

I followed advice on the Windows IT Pro forums and put Explorer.exe into the exclusion list on the Anti-Virus software I use.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials and entered "Explorer.exe" into the 'File Locations' box under 'Excluded Files & Locations' on the Settings tab. The result was instant.

Explorer now behaves as it should on a high powered CAD system.
