    user accounts confused

    Hello
When I place a folder in my admin acc't, it also appears in the guest account. If I delete it from the guest account, it also is deleted from the admin account. I need both accounts. How can I place the folder in just the admin acc't but not in the guest acc't?
    Thank you

    Hello seven2,

What is the full path of where you are placing the folder at? :)

    \\DESK\Users\Public\Documents\critical notes 6-06-12

and the lap which works right is Lap\Users\us\Documents\critcal notes\6-06-12

It appears you may have found the problem.

How do I change the path?

Ah, that would be why then. If you have a item located in one of the C:\Users\Public folders, then all users have full access by default, and can delete it affecting all users. The Public folder doesn't belong to any user account. It's a shared location by all users.

To change it's location, you would just need to move the folder to where you want instead. If it's a library, then do as Kado posted above. :)

I have done as told so the path is now unchecked on public and is now checked on the following
    DESK\Users\us\Documents\critical notes 6-06-12.

If this still keeps the folder seemingly joined with the two accounts what would be a way to seperate them?
I tried to create the folder in the admin and I think the problem persists in that it is created in the guest and when deleted in the guest, it is deleted in the admin
?permissions?. Would a reboot be required or?
