How to make hidden folders not show up on the taskbar's toolbar

I added my user folder as a toolbar to the taskbar for quick access to its subfolders and files. I had set some of rarely-used system folders in my user folder (such as "Desktop," "Searches" etc.) as hidden, and selected "Do not show hidden folders, etc." in Folder Options. These hidden folders are not shown in Windows explorer's window, but they show up on the taskbar's toolbar. Is there a way to keep them hidden on the taskbar as well?

    Hi Notetaker

My name is Mohammed from DELL social media and community.

In response to your query, we would like to know If you are using windows 7, if you are then you just have to do right-click on the task bar and unpin the folders which you want to from the taskbar. Let us know if this helps or you need more assistance.

    Thanks

    Hi Mohammed,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm using Windows 7, and what I'd like to do is to access my user folder from the taskbar in the form of a toolbar, so that all the subfolders and files will show up on pop-up menus and submenus when I click on the >> there. But for some reason the hidden folders are no longer hidden in my user folder when it is a toolbar on the taskbar (they continue to be hidden in the Explorer window). So I'm trying to find out whether there's a way to make those hidden folders hidden on the taskbar as well.

    Thank you for your help,

    NT

I have folders set up like this at work with links to environments that I need, but I don't have any hidden files there. So....I added a new hidden file to it called "Test.txt" and it is hidden... and Test2.txt that is not hidden. So this is working properly for me. So it is not working correctly for you.

My files are set up to hide hidden files so the Test.txt does not show up in my Explorer window either. Are all hidden files shown? can you test like I did? (by creating a txt file and setting to hidden)

It might be that "Desktop" and "Searches", since they are system used folder, can't be hidden in the toolbar.

    Found and tested this:
How to Pin Your User Files Folder to the Windows 7 Taskbar

Not exactly what you're asking, but close.
