I have had nothing but positive experiences with ASUS hardware.
I can not say the same for HP.
I buy based upon the company, their performance, support and documentation.
My nod goes to ASUS.

Also a vote for ASUS, the Athlon is a more solid better performing CPU and it's board can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM. I think 8GB would be perfect since it will share RAM with graphics.
ASUS support is hit and miss, but their hardware in my experience is generally very good. I think Best Buy will do an even exchange for 30 days and an extended warranty may be a good idea but read the fine print.
The Athlon processor may be 3 times more powerful than the othe one.
I don't know the actual processor, but it may be the Athlon 240 Regor 2.8ghz processor.
Passmark rates it at 1595, And the other one comes in at 595.
Thanks, everyone, for the great feedback. Waiting to hear from my sis and bro-in-law who I linked to the thread.
