How to create new text file in one click ?

Hello all,
I need to have an option like "new text file" next to "new folder" option below menu bar.
Is it possible to tweak registry and do something like this?
I am attaching an image to show what exactly i mean..

but thats not what i want.. i need to have a button that says "new text document" just like "new folder"

you could look at a desktop gadget that will do this ive seen one around ill try find you a link
