    How can I step through the boot sequence - to find what is causing err


    Hi Folks,

    I installed some system tool trials, and de-installed most of them ...

    But now when I boot the Laptop, I see some error messages flash by .. late in the boot process, well after the Windows animation starts.

    Is there a way to step through starting of the services to see what is generating the errors ? I tried the "F5" key and the "F8" key ..

    My environment:
    Manufacturer LENOVO
    Model 4239CTO (CPU)
    Version ThinkPad T520
    MS Windows 7 64-bit SP1
    Boot Disk:
    Manufacturer Kingston
    Product Family SSDNow
    Interface SATA-2
    Form Factor 2.5-inch

    What "System Tool trials" did you install, and how were they uninstalled?

    Check msconfig>Startup and >Services (after hiding all MS Services) to see if remnants remain. Use google to determine the listings.

I just received in the mail 1 new 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, 1 WD Black Caviar Drive (to match the existing 1TB WD Black Caviar drive I currently use), I also have a clean 1TB WD Caviar Blue drive I can use for what ever and an external 1TB USB 3.0 Passport for any drive imaging of file back ups etc....
