Desktop Is Anbormally Large

Hey guys, any help on this is greatly appreciated, Thanks

I try to keep my computer on as much as i can to avoid the long start up procedures and as i am on it 10/24hrs of the day i have no need to shut it down.

I recently was required to restart my computer to complete an installation process. When I turned my computer on I noticed that the desktop (Start menu, Task bar, Icons) were abnormally large. I figured that the screen resolution had changed(from the install), but it is still running at the maximum for my laptop (1360 x 768).

The start bar inst too noticeable but it has changed (see (1 - My Task Bar) and (2 - Generic - Old Bar))

I would like to have it back to the way it was and any help/ suggestions from you guys/girls would be very much appreciated :)

Welcome to the forum
If you make a system restore prior to the installation you made, maybe you can regain your normal desktop.

Small and Large Desktop Icons - Why?
I don't understand why it is when I create an internet shortcut on a Windows 7 desktop, most of the icons are "miniature", where as some of them are full size on the desktop. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which shortcut will be small and which will be full size. Please see...

Large desktop button... what's up with that?

I know it's a bit silly but it does bother me... and I'd like it back the way it was. I didn't install anything special, I don't use any desktop customizer and I can't...
