We may never know though I think she must have managed it somehow!
you can turn it off via 'turn off windows features' < Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

She might have turned it off there, else someone else did.

But the Snipping Tool does not appear in the "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features". In Vista you can turn off the Snipping Tool by unchecking the PC Tablet Component option but this has not effect in Windows 7!

But the Snipping Tool does not appear in the "Programs and Features" in Vista or Windows 7. The only way to turn it off in Vista is to uncheck the PC Tablet Component entry. That is in the posts above and is why I started the thread in the first place!
See screenshot the Vista Progs and features window!

yessir. I wasn't offering a solution to your problem, merely stating that the lady could have disabled the snipping tool function by turning off tablet pc components in windows features. She said she never went to Services before, so I was offering up an alternative location where she could have turned the feature off. Sorry that my explaination was lacking.

THat was my bad explanation not yours! The lady assured me that she had never seen the "Windows Features" before and certainly not the Services window. No one else has access to her PC.
But you and I know that the feature got turned off by human hand somehow, it will, perhaps, remain as one of lifes many mysteries.
Thanks for your import.

My snipping tool is acting up. I click the icon (on task bar) and it starts to glow a reddish colour and flashes slowly. Maybe about 1/2 a minute later, the snipping tool window opens and then again, sometimes it doesn't open at all. I was trying to snip an email pic in Outlook. I had to...
