    Windows 7 RTM

    Hello,

Could anyone advise if the RTM release of Windows 7 doing the rounds on the ususal download sources is the same as what will be available on release day.

I want to test it out for a month or two before committing to buy after being sorely dissapointed with vista. Also will help me vis-a-vis version choices!

Put simply is that release going to be time limited or problematic in the short to medium term while I decide?

    Thanks,

    Dean.

The unusual sources can be dangerous as it can be tampered with. The win7 RC beta is no longer available for download from Microsoft.

Free 90 day trial directly from MS

When you fill out the form, tell them you're an IT professional or it will say you don't qualify for the download.

Is that MS linked image the same as the RTM iso or is it different in someway?

    Thanks,

    Dean.

    Hi Dean

the Offer is, for the enterprise version of the software which is the version recommended for corporate use, and is the equivalent to the Ultimate SKU available elsewhere.

the normal "Business" version of Windows 7 is Professional which does not ship with the bit locker security and certain other enterprise goodies

The ISO is the same for all RTM builds with the product key unlocking feature

If you cannot find a good copy, and you are situated as close as I think you are to me, I have an official RC x86 Ultimate disk here (disk from MS Not downloaded) that I could send you - Keys are still available - There are only Minor changes to RTM, and it's good till march 2010
