    WMP 12 won't delete movies!!

I am trying to delete some videos in Windows Media Player 12 but they won't delete. I tried clicking delete just from library but nothing happens. If I move the videos to another location then there are just icons of them that don't work and they still won't delete from the library. I also tried rebuilding the library but they still stayed there.

Nope, that didn't do anything. When I opened WMP that time all the movies were gone except for the 5 icons that I'm trying to delete. When I try to drag the other movies from a folder back into the library nothing happens!!

Is there anyway to just get the movies removed from wmp or will I have to turn off wmp?

Are those movies in another folder from when you downloaded them, if so, you should be able to delete them from there.

If WMP is default in startup, then it is running and any file it thinks is still running due to not being closed correctly.CAN NOT BE DELETED.
1st you have to stop WMP from being in RUN. use task manager and KILL WMP.
once WMP is DEAD not running you should be albe to delete the video unless another video player or any program is using them.
If a file of any nature is being used it is considered OPEN and NO you can not delete a OPEN file.

I have already deleted the movies from the folder but they remain in wmp not able to delete. If I restore them from the recycle bin to the folder then try to delete them from wmp clicking the option to delete from library and computer it moves them all to the recycle bin but they are still there in the library.

If it shows in your Library it is only a link to.
    open player
right click the link to (open location)
    go to the location.
    delete the FILE.
once you reboot the link from player should be gone.

why: because the file-video-music is no longer available.
If the link still shows in player -left click 1 time then click delete or you can use the delete key.

there also is a default you can click while in player. delete the link also deletes the file.
