"There are no more file" message when saving files

Hi,
I have been using windows 7 RC for a few months now and from time to time have searched for others that experience the same, but no luck!

The problem:
When I try to save a new file, I get the message "there are no more files" and the file is not saved.
I can transfer filed between folded and other drives, but I can not down load files or save new files from any applications.

I have looked into owner and privileges, all settings seem. fine


Any help would be appreciated

Does this happen if you attempt to save a Word document, a jpg, an mp3 or any type of file? Or is it just certain types of files?

Is that error message a direct quote? I have never heard of such an error.

What is a "folded" drive?

Yes, any file type, .doc, jpg, gif, zip.....

Example 1
Open Note pad, create file, Save As, name the new file, click save
pop up measage with exclamation sign and text.
First line "thefilename.txt"
Second line "There are no more files."

Example 2
Open browser and web page, right click image, Save Picture As, Save.
Same pop up message as above Example.

How certain are you that your PC is virus free, spyware free, and malware free?

I run ESET smart security, nothing detected when scanning.
I don't have any other spyware detection apps so its posible.

It's a possibility, I don't know how probable. Go to malwarebytes.org and download their free scanning tool. Install it, open it, go to the update tab and update, go to the scanner tab and do a full scan. Might take a half hour to run, maybe less.

In stalling now, just a note: I have to click run so it down loads to temp file, if I click save to save the file to a folder I get the error above.
