Win7Pro won't load after Win Update/etc.
I started the day off yesterday with a clean computer. Formatted the hard drive and installed a clean version of Win7Pro. I got to install Windows and load it up for the first time, so I proceeded to install my drivers on my MoBo *Asus Crosshair IV Extreme* and restarted the computer afterwords to enure everything was working.
Now here's where my problem occurs. I plugged my computer into the internet *wired* and after it automatically updated Windows, it restarts the computer. All is good so far. It starts loading windows, and gets to the Windows background where I normally WOULD log-in, but it never finishes loading the log-in screen.
I attempted to repair windows, and it said Windows was installed properly and there is nothing to fix.
I reformatted, re-installed, and this time I didn't give it a log-in password so it would automatically go to the desktop. Installed my ethernet controller, and restarted my computer.
I wired my computer to the internet now, and it automatically downloaded and installed the newest updates for windows again, restarted the computer, an this time it got to that EXACT SAME SCREEN, however I have no log-in so it was just the desktop background screen that it got to, and it never finished loading windows. I just had the background, no files, no task bar.
When I press ctrl+alt+del my screen goes black and nothing happens.
I went back and repeated the process but I didn't install the ethernet controller, this time I installed a USB Wireless Adapter. Again, it downloaded the updates, and the computer got to the Desktop Background, but never finished loading.
When I tried to repair, again it said that windows is installed correctly and there is nothing to fix.
The computer ONLY has the following plugged into it:
Monitor DVI
Mouse USB
Keyboard USB
I have installed Vista Home on it and gotten it to work, I have run tests on the RAM Chip by Chip, I have checked the gfx, etc... Each and every individual piece inside my computer is working properly.
Is there anyone having similar problems who can help me fix this?
I know the obvious aswer is to not have it automatically update, but that shouldn't be a problem since Windows Updates are meant to work, and everyone else *for the most part* doesn't have a problem with it.
